How to Claim Your Salon’s Google Business Profile

SOMOS Editorial · Updated November 1, 2026

Find, claim, and verify your salon listing so you can manage hours, contact information, and visibility.

1. Find the existing listing before creating one

Search Google Maps for your salon name, phone, and street address. Open the correct listing and look for “Own this business?” or the available claim option. If it already has an owner, use Google’s request-access process rather than creating a duplicate.

2. Add a missing salon correctly

If no listing exists, follow Google’s add-your-business flow. Use the actual salon name shown on your signage, the correct business type and address/service-area setup, and the phone and website your customers use.

3. Complete verification

Google chooses available verification methods based on the business. Video, phone, email, or other methods may be offered. Follow the on-screen steps and keep signage, equipment, and location evidence ready if Google asks.

4. Fill in information customers need

After verification, confirm hours, holiday hours, categories, appointment link, services, photos, accessibility details where offered, and your real phone number. Keep the profile consistent with the salon website.

5. Maintain ownership

Keep the primary owner account secure, add individual managers instead of sharing passwords, and review account access when employees leave.
